“One of our first initiatives is to create the understanding that debt resolution is simply a necessary part of banking and financial services in any modern credit based economy. Not every loan goes according to plan whether for an individual, a business or even a country and in Ireland we certainly know something of the latter. It is our function to help banks and individual consumers rebuild their relationships and so provide a platform for a sustainable financial future for us all.”

He stresses that dialogue regarding personal debt is of crucial importance and that those who need advice should seek it rather than ‘bottling it all up’. “There have been too many casualties already, from suicides to broken homes and the real tragedy is that most financial difficulties can be easily solved.”
